Modern Slavery & Human Trafficking Statement

Last updated: 12.12.2025

This statement is made pursuant to section 54 of the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and sets out the steps that Tan Rosie has taken, and continues to take, to ensure that modern slavery and human trafficking are not taking place within our business or supply chains.

1. Our Business

Tan Rosie is a UK-based food and cookery business owned and operated by Miss K L Sylvester and Ms M Cudjoe. Our activities include:

  • Producing and selling Caribbean sauces, spice rubs, and food products

  • Delivering cookery classes, workshops, and retreats

  • Providing online cookery courses and digital products

We work with a small number of trusted suppliers and partners.

2. Our Commitment

Tan Rosie is committed to acting ethically, transparently, and with integrity in all business relationships. We have a zero-tolerance approach to modern slavery and human trafficking and are committed to respecting human rights throughout our operations and supply chains.

3. Our Supply Chains

Our supply chains are relatively short and low-risk and may include:

  • UK-based manufacturers and food producers

  • Packaging and printing suppliers

  • Logistics and delivery providers

  • Event organisers and venues

  • Digital platforms and service providers

Where ingredients or materials are sourced from outside the UK, we aim to work with reputable suppliers who align with ethical and legal labour standards.

4. Risk Assessment

Due to the nature and scale of our business, we assess the risk of modern slavery within our operations and supply chains to be low. However, we recognise that risks can exist in food production, agriculture, and global supply chains, and we remain vigilant.

5. Due Diligence and Supplier Standards

We take reasonable steps to ensure our suppliers:

  • Operate in compliance with applicable laws and regulations

  • Treat workers fairly and ethically

  • Do not use forced, bonded, or child labour

Where appropriate, we:

  • Work with suppliers who confirm ethical labour practices

  • Review supplier practices on an ongoing basis

  • Reconsider relationships where concerns are identified

6. Policies and Procedures

Although we are a small business, we support the principles of:

  • Ethical trading

  • Fair pay and safe working conditions

  • Respect for human rights

We expect anyone working with or on behalf of Tan Rosie to uphold these standards.

7. Training and Awareness

As a small, founder-led business, training is informal but ongoing. We remain informed about modern slavery risks and legal responsibilities and commit to increasing awareness as the business grows.

8. Reporting Concerns

We encourage anyone who has concerns about potential modern slavery or unethical practices linked to our business or supply chains to report them by contacting:

Email: info@tanrosie.com

All concerns will be taken seriously and investigated appropriately.

9. Review and Approval

This statement will be reviewed annually and updated as necessary to reflect changes in our business or supply chains.

Signed:

Miss K L Sylvester
