Preserving the voices, memories and cultural heritage of Carriacou through oral storytelling.

Carriacou Stories is an evolving oral history project documenting the memories, migration journeys, traditions and cultural heritage of people connected to Carriacou, Grenada.
Through interviews and storytelling, we hope to preserve these voices for future generations.
Why we started
We started Carriacou Stories after realising how many memories, traditions and migration journeys were at risk of being lost with time. Through simple conversations with elders, family members and people connected to Carriacou, we began documenting stories about island life, culture, migration, identity and belonging.
What began as a personal journey has grown into a living archive of voices, experiences and memories that deserve to be preserved for future generations.
Share Your Story
Every family has a story worth preserving.
We’re creating a permanent digital archive of the experiences of people from Carriacou and Petite Martinique who migrated to the UK and beyond. Through filmed interviews, we’re capturing memories of island life, migration, family, culture, work, food, community and the journeys that shaped generations.
If you, a family member or someone you know has a story to tell, we’d love to hear from you. Whether you arrived in the 1950s, 60s, 70s or later, every experience is unique and deserves to be remembered. By sharing your story, you’ll help preserve an important part of our history for future generations.
Complete the form below and we’ll be in touch to discuss arranging an interview.
Your story matters. Let’s make sure it’s never forgotten.
